What's coming up after Fall Break?
Literature/Poetry
MathIn Math, we learned how to get a prime factorization of any
composite number using a factor tree/inverted division. We used it to find the
GCF (greatest common factor) and LCM (least common multiple). We concluded the
unit (Number Theory) with a quiz.
We will start fractions the week we come back after the fall
break. We will learn a lot of things about fractions: how to find equivalent
fractions, how to compare fractions, etc.

This week in History we had a wonderful time discussing the relevance of Socrates and the other famous Greek Philosophers.
When we return from break, we will be wrapping up our
Ancient Greece Unit with Alexander the Great and impact of the spread of Greek
culture throughout is empire. We will be taking our exam October 30th.
Science
This week in Science, scholars have enjoyed learning about gymnosperms. They were able to observe pinecones, count tree rings during their Tree Cookie lab, and concluded the week with a fun game explaining the importance of spacing between trees.
Scholars will study angiosperms when
they return from Fall break. Please continue to encourage your scholar to
practice their observation skills especially as the weather becomes more
“comfortable”!
