Our 6th Grade Team has noticed a trend in Google Classroom of scholars clicking an assignment is done when they have in fact, not uploaded their completed work. Please view this video to learn how you can check if your child’s work has been uploaded properly, and please reach out to your child’s teacher(s) with any questions or concerns. We are here to support you and your scholar.
- Parents, please see the Stream of your scholar's Google Classroom daily for an updated agenda for the day. This will help guide your scholar while doing their work to ensure assignments are being done and turned in. It will also help you when you are checking your scholar's work to make sure that nothing was forgotten about or missed.
You may purchase phonogram cards here. You can also download the Spalding app on your phone by clicking here.
As a reminder, agenda, quizzes, and assignments in Google Classroom will be available to your scholar at 7:00 am each day.
If you take photos of assignments to upload to Google Classroom, please make sure that words are clear and legible before submitting your work. It might help to take a closer picture.
What's coming up next week?
Literature and Poetry
This week in Literature scholars enjoyed reading Chapters
7-10 in The Tales of the Greek Heroes.
They were introduced to Perseus and Heracles. Next
week, scholars will continue reading Chapters 11-13 and review the importance
of the 12 Labours that were performed by Heracles.
We started the week with the translation of sentences into inequalities. Then, we started solving some equations as well as some inequalities. Next week, we will solve more equations and inequalities. Then, we will solve word problems using equations and inequalities.
This week in World History the students completed a map
projection experiment, were introduced to the Core Knowledge textbook, and
began exploration of our World Deserts. Next week we will continue to identify
desert characteristics and finally begin our journey in the history
of human civilization. Please check communications about scholar’s
opportunity to turn in missing assignments or retake assessments.
Science
This week in Science scholars were introduced to Kingdom Protista or what I refer to as the “junk drawer” of organisms. Be sure to ask your scholar what that means and I hope they were able to discover how common algae is in our everyday life. Next week, scholars will move to Kingdom Fungi and how it led to the discovery of Penicillin. -Mrs. Glowe
